Associate

Job responsibilities

  • You will be managing multiple or complex projects.

  • You will help grow the business through collaborative relationships with our existing and potential new clients

  • You will have greater involvement and responsibility in the management of the team, including fee income and resource.

  • You will be involved in proposals and bids for new projects.

  • You will be commercially aware, negotiating fees and scope of work robustly and efficiently with all parties.

  • You will have a network of current and potential clients and will spend time with them on a regular basis.

  • You will manage individuals / teams and will provide support on training and progression.

  • You will play a pivotal role in the engagement and motivation of your team and clients alike through advice, guidance, and leadership.

  • You will build a rapport with clients, attending meetings and speaking on behalf of MESH, acting as the main contact.

  • The role will cover the entire project lifecycle, from preparing feasibility estimates to final account settlements.

  • Support and manage graduates and junior staff.

  • Provide commercial knowledge and advice to clients.

  • Assist with the APC programme.

 Requirements  

  • Good knowledge of the construction industry.

  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel as well as the wider MS software suite of programmes.

  • Collaborative approach to projects and the ability to delegate tasks to junior staff efficiently.

  • Line management experience.

  • Good communication skills.

  • A flexible attitude and self-motivated.

  • Willing to go above and beyond.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • RICS Chartered.

  • 5+ years' experience.

 Salary

  • £75,000+ (dependent on experience).

Senior Cost Consultant

Job responsibilities

  • You will build a rapport with clients, attending meetings and speaking on behalf of MESH, acting as the main contact.

  • You will help grow the business through collaborative relationships with our existing and potential new clients.

  • The role will cover the entire project lifecycle, from preparing feasibility estimates to final account settlements.

  • Support graduates and junior staff.

  • Provide commercial knowledge and advice to clients.

  • Manage contract change effectively, and ensure projects are delivered within budget.

  • Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting in line with clients’ own reporting procedures and governance.

  • Undertake valuations of construction work.  

  • Manage final accounts and ensure they are negotiated and agreed in a timely manner.

 Requirements  

  • Good knowledge of the construction industry.

  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel as well as the wider MS software suite of programmes.

  • Collaborative approach to projects and the ability to delegate tasks to junior staff efficiently.

  • Competent user of CAD Measure.

  • Good communication skills.

  • A flexible attitude and self-motivated.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • RICS Chartered.

  • 4+ years' experience.

 Salary

  • £60,000 - £75,000 (dependent on experience).

Cost Consultant

Job responsibilities

  • You will be working alongside an Associate or Director to successfully deliver cost management duties.

  • You will build a rapport with clients, attending meetings and speaking on behalf of MESH, acting as the main contact.

  • The role will cover the entire project lifecycle, from preparing feasibility estimates to final account settlements.

  • You will help grow the business through collaborative relationships with our existing and potential new clients.

  • Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and prepare reports in line with clients’ own reporting procedures and governance.

  • Manage contract change effectively, price and agree contract variations with contractors.

  • Undertake valuations of construction work.  

  • Provide commercial knowledge and guidance to clients.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of the construction industry.

  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel as well as the wider MS software suite of programmes.

  • Collaborative approach to projects and the ability to delegate tasks to junior staff efficiently.

  • Competent user of CAD Measure.

  • Good communication skills.

  • A flexible attitude and self-motivated.

 Qualifications

  • RICS Chartership (preferable).

  • 2+ years' experience.

 Salary

  • £50,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience).

Assistant Cost Consultant

Job responsibilities

  • You will be working alongside a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Associate or Director to successfully support the delivery of cost management duties.

  • You will attend meetings, acting as support on most projects.

  • The role will cover the entire project lifecycle, from preparing feasibility estimates to final account settlements.

  • Assistance with compiling tender documents, analysing tenders and drafting tender reports.

  • Compiling contract documents (mainly JCT).

  • Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and prepare reports in line with clients’ own reporting procedures and governance.

  • Manage contract change effectively, price and agree contract variations with contractors.

  • Undertake valuations of construction work.  

  • Measurement of projects through all stages.

 Requirements

  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel as well as the wider MS software suite of programmes.

  • Collaborative approach to projects and the ability to work with juniors and seniors efficiently.

  • Understanding of measurement processes.

  • Good communication skills.

  • A good attitude and self-motivated.

 Qualifications

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).

 Salary

  • £30,000 - £45,000 (dependent on experience).
