This workshop aimed to provide sufficient knowledge for them to carry out routine Contract Administration and decision-making, while understanding enough about the more complex provisions to know when further support or advice should be sought.
To achieve this, some of the key features that were covered were:
- Standard form of contracts and why they can be beneficial in construction projects.
- An overview of the JCT suite of contracts.
- Key provisions and mechanisms in JCT contracts.
- Selecting the appropriate JCT contract and completing it.
- Contractual disputes.
- Key responsibilities of the client and Contract Administrator.
